Ata Ibusuki (指宿 阿多 Ibusuki Ata) is a second-year student and student council president at Binan High School who is revered (feel deep respect or admiration for (something) in the school, but he puts in a great deal of effort to earn respect in reality. Ata transforms into Ritter Diamant.
Appearance[]
Ata is a slender and graceful boy whose most characteristic feature is his long blue-violet hair, which he holds in a ponytail. His eyes are dark crimson. Like the other members of the student council, he wears the Binan High uniform with the exception of the color of his jacket, which is white with gold details instead of the typical black and white. He also wears a gray vest underneath and a black shirt.
His appearance as Ritter Diamant consists of a dark blue Arabian-style suit with black and gold details, which opens in the front and allows part of his legs to be seen. A red and gold bow is attached to his waist, while a long black cape with a red interior falling from his shoulders. His costume is complemented by a lilac breastplate and shoulder pad, as well as a pair of brown sandals and a large sword hanging from his waist.
Personality[]
Ata has excellent grades and is the owner of a perfect appearance. He ranks first in the school, although he actually does his best to be respected. Ata is extremely serious, and even Furanui found his personality interesting and chose him to be the commander of his knights by force. However, Ata voluntarily agreed to become a knight as long as Furanui was willing to give him some of his magical powers. Because as a child he was always second in everything he did, Ata tried to work harder in order to improve, but still, he was always surpassed by Kyoutarou, towards whom he ended up developing envy and resentment. Ata has a deep desire for order, demanding that the students of the school follow the rules in the correct way. In elementary school, when he encountered a situation in which he did not know the rules, he did not know what to do and ended up fleeing dejected.
History[]
Ata is a childhood friend of Kyoutarou Shujenzi and Ryouma Kirishima. The three of them attended elementary school together and used to be good friends. However, Ata felt outnumbered by Kyoutarou because Kyoutarou always beat him in everything, be it in painting class, sports, and other areas. Because of this, Ata felt that he needed to be better than Kyoutarou.
The last straw for Ata came when the three of them went to the hot springs (invited by Yumoto ) and Kyoutarou and Ryouma went ahead, leading Ata to believe that Kyoutarou had left him behind. In reality, they both assumed that Ata would go with them, and by the time they realized Ata's absence, he had already left. From that day on, Ata distanced himself from Kyoutarou and Ryouma, feeling betrayed and holding a grudge towards Kyoutarou, which lasted for more than ten years.
Skills[]
Unlike the Karurusu Knights, Ata and the other members of the student council (like the Caerula Adamas ) transform into Ritter Diamants with the power of a ring known as Druck. Its element, instead of being something immaterial like light or air, is the violet diamond.
Black Knight[]
In episode 10, Ata is transformed into a monster by Furanui called "Black Knight", a being dominated by his negative feelings. When transforming into Black Knight, his face is covered by a white and red mask, two wings emerge from his back and a threatening aura of purple surrounds his body.
Etymology[]
- His last name, Ibusuki (指 宿), comes from a hot spring establishment located in Ibusuki City, Kagoshima Prefecture. [6]
- His name "Ata" (阿 多), literally translates as "full", meaning someone who is tired or upset.
